City University Students' Union and City University employ a strict 'NO DRUGS' policy.
We support the University's policy on drugs which can be viewed here.
Drugs are substances people take to change the way they feel, think or behave. They include both legal drugs such as ketamine, illegal (controlled) drugs such as cannabis and even prescription drugs.
Unfortunately most of these substances can cause harm to health, including addiction - and even death. The long-term mental health effects of drugs such as cannabis are of particular concern.
There are also social and legal consequences of possessing or supplying controlled drugs which carry penalties which may affect employment in the future.
All cases of possessing, consuming or supplying illegal drugs in the Students' Union or at any Students' Union event will be dealt with very seriously.
Cases will be dealt with through Students' Union and/or University disciplinary procedures. Students involved in such cases may face having their Students' Union membership revoked and expulsion from the University.
City University Students' Union and City University reserve the right to report any drug-related incidents to the Police, and will not hesitate to do so if it is felt necessary.
Any drug-related offences in the Students' Union or at a Students' Union event should be reported immediately to the Students' Union Security Office, Reception or the Event Organiser.
