International Students’ Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be an international student and a full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

 

Specific Tasks:

Canvas the views of the international student membership of CUSU.

Act as a representative of the international student membership of the CUSU within the Union and University

Ensure that international student members are fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

Ensure that all information relevant to the international student membership is made available by CUSU.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning international students.

Encourage the participation of international students in the Students’ Union

 

 

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) Officer

 

Candidates must:

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

Canvas the views of the LGBT membership of CUSU.

Act as a representative of the LGBT membership of the CUSU within the Union and University

Ensure that LGBT members are fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

Ensure that all information relevant to the LGBT membership is made available by CUSU.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning LGBT issues.

Raise awareness throughout the university of LGBT issues.

 

 

Women’s Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a female full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

Act as a representative of the female membership of the CUSU within the Union and University

Ensure that female members are fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

Address Women’s safety off and on campus.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning women’s issues.

Encourage the participation of women in the Students’ Union

Raise awareness throughout the university of issues affecting women

 

Postgraduate Students’ Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a full postgraduate member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

Act as a representative of the postgraduate membership of the CUSU within the Union and University

Ensure that the postgraduate membership is fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

Ensure that all information relevant to the postgraduate membership is made available by CUSU.

Address Women’s safety off and on campus.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning postgraduate students.

Encourage the participation of postgraduates in the Students’ Union

 

 

Students with Disabilities Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a disabled full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

Act as a representative of the disabled membership of the CUSU within the Union and University

Ensure that disabled members are fairly represented within the CUSU and its services.

Ensure that all information relevant to the disabled membership is made available by CUSU.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning disabled members.

Encourage the participation of disabled students in the Students’ Union

Raise awareness throughout the university of issues affecting disabled members.

 

Racial Equality Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

 

Specific Tasks:

Canvas and represent the views of the members who have been, or might expect to be, discriminated against on racial grounds.

Ensure that these members are fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

Ensure that all information relevant to these members is made available by CUSU.

Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning racial equality issues.

Raise awareness throughout the university of issues concerning racial equality

 

 

Part-time Students’ Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a part-time student and a full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 4 hours a week.

Sit on the Union Council, Executive Committee, and Education and Welfare Committee.

Mature Students’ Officer

 

Candidates must:

Be a mature student and a full member of CUSU.

Encourage participation in the Students’ Union

Raise awareness throughout the university of issues affecting members of CUSU.

 

 

Union Councillors

 

Candidates must:

Be a full member of CUSU.

Remain eligible for and maintain full membership until 31 July 2008

Serve the interests of the Union.

Sit on the Union Council

Undertake Union activities, excluding meetings, for a minimum of 1 hour a week.
