What have I done? I have been representing students, for the past nine years. I have just concluded a successful year as student President/Governor at Lambeth College, south London. I organised one of the biggest canteen campaigns, for quality food and service at prices students can afford. I have served as class monitor, club president, youth leader, and peer counsellor, student of the year (2002), deputy head boy and head boy. I have contested in ten annual leadership elections, and came out victorious in all. This proves it all; I am filled with the knowledge, skill and vitality to do it again.

 

So what am I doing now?  - I am presently a member of the City University Student Union

  • Awarded for Excellent Service and Commitment- (Lambeth College 2007)
  • Awarded as Youth Ambassador for Peace
  • N.U.S – Train the Leading Leaner facilitator (F.E. Colleges)
  •  International Youth Leader, Youth Support Charity
  • Vice- President- Jamaican Diaspora Youth Association (JDYA)

 

What Will I do for you? - If given the opportunity to sit on the executive committee, I will:

·         Ensure just rewards and acknowledgement for academic achievement

·         Encourage participation in the Students’ Union

·         Deal with current issues affecting students, educationally, socially or emotionally.

·         Pull down barriers that prevent any student’s ability to learn

·         Ensure that all members are fairly represented within the CUSU, its services and the university.

·         Ensure that CUSU adheres to policy passed concerning general membership

·         Raise awareness throughout the University of Issues affecting member of the CUSU.

·         I will contribute to the development of the student magazine and make sure the student voice is heard so building a union prepared to fight for the rights of all students.
