It is the first time that the Mauritian society launches its website. Despite the on and off existence of the society since it was first set up, the MSCU committee of 2005-2006 has agreed to give a brighter twist to the future of the MSCU.
The Mauritian Society of City University is pleased to welcome its readers, members and writers to a hopefully helpful website. The design of such a work is done by students and for students.
The aim of such a society is mainly to help Mauritian students to integrate the University life of City with a more familiar environment, beginning with other Mauritians. The centre point of all those students is that they left their home, which is , to come and study at City University.
City University is undoubtedly a very popular establishment among Mauritians. The number of Mauritians found in the University can vary from 30-40 students per year - from the freshers to the PhDs.
Most of them are members, and thus contribute greatly to the continuing success of the society.
We help new-comers by sharing experiences and giving advice.
First years are put at ease to participate in activities and to share views and opinions in Creole.
Those on their last year of their degree enjoy to the maximum their student life by encouraging outings to other parts of or to do fun activities such as paint-balling or bungee jumping.
The active committee is willing to help withstanding its knowledge and experience. Altogether with the precious help of the Student Union, setting up educational and cultural outings becomes easier.
